‘If Karl left me tomorrow, I’d be fine’
KALEY Cuoco says she’d be fine if her husband of three months left her.
The Big Bang Theory star, 32, married Karl Cook in June but told Women’s Health magazine that despite having a ring on her finger she’s still an independent woman.
“I want to see him,” she said about Cook who is the son of billionaire Scott Cook.
“I like knowing, though, that I’m (financially) set, because I’ve taken it upon myself to do that. I like to tell my friends, ‘Always make sure you have your life going, and that you’re number one, so that anyone who comes into it — husband, or boyfriend, or girlfriend, however you roll — that’s just an added bonus to something you’re already creating.’
“I don’t need Karl for anything,” Cuoco added. “If Karl left me tomorrow, I’d be fine. And he knows that, and he would be fine too.”
Cuoco began dating equestrian Cook in 2016 after meeting at a horseshow. At the time, he had no idea who she was and very little interest in the world of showbiz.
“It was great because he never kissed my ass at all and he never cared about any of that,” Cuoco told Women’s Health. “He loved that I loved horses. It became a big talking point for us.
“We bonded a lot over having the same kind of outlooks on life, insecurities, dating. He comes from a very well-to-do family, so there’s all these (preconceived ideas) of being spoiled, and blah, blah, blah. And he’s just the opposite.”
Cuoco, who was previously married to tennis player Ryan Sweeting, married Cook in a horse-themed ceremony on June 30 in San Diego.
Cuoco fought back tears as the couple exchanged vows, which she said were very hard to write.
“I would go to my phone, and I’d go to my notes and I couldn’t write anything,” she told Cook when standing at the altar. “And I didn’t really understand why. And it’s because there really weren’t enough words to describe how I actually, truly feel about you.”
